Snow Removal
Does your roof have a high accumulation of Snow during the winter Months?
If the answer is yes, then there are a couple of things you should consider:
✅Does your roof slope towards any access areas, parking lots or important equipment below?
If this is the case there may be a danger of falling ice and snow that can injure yourself and the public or damage expensive equipment like electrical, A/C units, fuel tanks etc.
✅Is the snow load too much for your building?
If the weight of the snow on your roof may approaching critical level. This can lead to possible roof collapse that could potentially result in thousands of dollars of damage or the incomparable price of loss of life.
✅Snow accumulation and potential leaks.
Most people don’t consider the potential leak implications that snow accumulation can result in. Roof systems, regardless of slope are designed to certain standards. These standards can not and do not take into consideration how snow melt and mild/rainy winter days affect the actual function of the roof. In some cases if there is significant snow on a roof and you have melt or rain, water can find its way inside through areas that would have otherwise been impossible if the roof was free of snow.
